Honda Repair: 1991 Honda Accord EX, gasket kit, valve cover gasket

My Honda's check engine light has started coming on and the sport light for the transmission stays on even when the sport is not engaged. The tranny doesn't shift when it is on but I can manually shift it. What could be causing this?

Sandra, The check engine light is a sign of a leak ..could be from valve cover. Also the check engine light could be from the oil sending unit going bad. Purchase the valve cover gasket kit  and make sure it has the valve tubes as well. The valve tubes keeps oil from leaking into where your spark plugs are. Now for the Tranny lift up the carpet on the passenger front side, turn your key on, Then count how many blinks, that will identify the problem you may be having with the tranny
