Honda Repair: 1991 honda civic check engine light, passenger dash, 1991 honda civic

Question
I have a 1991 Honda Civic hatchback.  I know that I have a hole in the exhaust between the Catalytic converter and the muffler. This week I started to hear a squeaking noise from around the distributor so I replaced the rotor and cap, the noise is still there. I also just added a bottle of engine cleaner to my tank. Well my check engine light is on now, is it because of the cleaner I added or is the distributor?  And what should I replace to stop the noise from the distributor?  Thanks for any advice.

Answer
it is common for the distributor bearing to go out on 4gen preludes. any other honda, i cant say its something ive seen, but i also cant say its not possible.
it is only 3 bolts to take it out, so you might as well do that. spin it with the part that goes into the head and listen. there should be zero sound. if it squeaks then i would  replace it. you cant get individual distributor internal parts.
if its not the distributor making the noise then im afraid id have to hear it in person.

the check light being on really doesnt mean anything without getting the code. it could be from the distibutor problem. on that i would have to look it up at work. i havent seen one in a while. but there might be hole to a light in the ecu to flash the code, or there could be a 2prong plug under the passenger dash that you jump to flash the code in the check light.
