Honda Repair: 92 HONDA ACCORD, cold engine, rmps

Question
hi again Rusty-

well, i did just that. when i pulled the plug of there was no change in rmps. so would that mean that sensor is bad? also, this small sensor with a wire coming out of a plug is just below the distributor which i thought was the "knock sensor" or does it affect other stuff too? as for the problem, i noticed that it only seems to come on when i start a cold engine and don't wait for the rpms to fall, which usually happend within 15-20 seconds after starting, but i immediately put it into drive, that's the only was to predict this problem. but if i wait and let the rpms fall, it doesn't seem to happend. but the 500 rpms higher, that even happens at 20 or 30 miles, any speed, i just realized even at idle, the typical idle for this car is 400 but during this problem it would be around 800-900. possibly anything else that could contribute to this problem? thanks again.

Question -
it seems that engine is running about 500 rpms higher when, for example, crusing at 45 mph and rpms are at 2000 at time, and when it's running normal it's at about 1500. but this problem is intermittent and not specific to any condition or problem, it's impossible to duplicate or predict. everything seems fine, engine, tranny and no lights or error codes. the only time i think i can some what antisipate this problem is when the vehicle is first started and when rpm's at the highest point at 1500 and within 10-15 secounds they should normally drop to around 1100, but i don't always notice that kind of sharp drop and instead the rpms might linger around 1300 and very slowly make it's way to 1100 as vehicle warms. personally, i suspect idle control module, or something having to do with idle/timing. only other thing that seems unrelated is the emu is reading out ABS code 4-8 when i checked the onboard computer. which would normally unassociated with idle, right? i sure hope you can help me figure out this anoying problem. thanks for your time.

Answer -
check the little sensor under the dissy, pull the plug off and listen to the rpm rise, then replace plug, this resets the auto choke module for the throttle body and ECU, If this does not work replace the sensor.

Hope ive been of some help

Answer
The little plug is nt a knock sensor its a heat idle sensor for the auto choke, If the revs didnt rise when plug is removed replace the sensor, Ive looked at the book and this is the only thing i can come up with, other than that im stumped sorry
