Honda Repair: 96 accord overheating, coolant level, car overheats


Question
I have a 96 accord 4 cylinder 2.2 305000K and in the summer when stopped in traffic for more than 2 minutes the car overheats but if i turn on the AC the heat drops down i changed the thermostat and its got new radiator but still keeps doing that

Let the engine idle and see if both fans come on before it gets hot.  I bet that either the fan switch is bad and the fans are not coming on at all or one of the fans is bad.  If you can turn the a/c on and cool it down, I bet the switch is bad.  Also make sure that the coolant level is full.  You can also test the fans by turning the a/c on and checking to make sure that both fans are running at the same time.
