Honda Repair: 1995 Honda Civic V-tec 1.6 Keeps getting Hot, honda civic v tec, radiator fluid

Question
the head is not leaking any water or loosing water. The oil is clean and visa-versa for the radiator fluid. No auto shops have new head bolts for my car. I put a new thermostat in today and while the car idles it gets hot. the needle just past the middle mark a little and when the fan kick in the needle drops. When I drive a distance the car will get hot passing the middle mark going up hills. So if the head is warped does this mean it needs to be replaced and why don't it leak any water.

ok here's the deal with my 1995 Honda Civic. My car was overheating alot with the radiator and resevor always bubbling over so I replaced the following parts, The Radiator, Water Pump, Cooling switches, and just yesterday the head gasket. The car is no longer bubbling over but it still gets hot after a drive. When I go up a hill the temp needle starts to rise so I turn around and come right back home. I've done everything possible for this car. The only thing I can think of next would be the timing, but the Honda knowledge, know the source of the problem?

When you replaced the head gasket, did you have the head checked by a machine shop?  I always have the head machined because they are prown to warp.  Also make sure you use new bolts. Do not reuse the old ones.  Also, when you let the engine idle, does the fan come on properly?  Will it overheat sitting still?  Did you replace the thermostat?

Answer
Most times if the head gaskets go bad on these engines, it will burn coolant.  It won't put it in the oil or oil in the coolant.  If its just going half way up, I don't think its getting hot, especially if the fan comes on.  I would be concerned if it was going 3/4 or higher.  But if the fan is coming on and the coolant level is staying full, I would want to drive it more and see what happens.
