Honda Repair: running/brake lights out on one side, car leaks, blown fuses

I have a '91 Honda civic. The running lights and brake lights are out
on the left side only. The headlights and turn signals work fine.
There are no blown fuses. Any suggestions? Also, my car leaks a bit
somewhere in the trunk, but I think (or at least hope!) that doesn't
have anything to do with it.

Your water leak may have damages the wire harness on that side.  Have you looked at the sockets.  I have seen the sockets go bad.  You can purchase just that wire harness for the light you need at the dealership which I would recommend.  Not very expensive to replace.  Most likely you have a taillight leaking. There is a replaceable seal behind the lens.
