Motorcycle Repair: Repair, valve cover gasket, motorcycle repairs

I just bought a 1980 CB750K, it runs great, but the bolt that holds the valve cover gasket is striped on the inside. I was wondering if i should install the helacoil myself, or bring it into a shop. I'm all about doing it myself, but i want to know whats best for the bike.
