Honda Repair: 1989 Honda Civic si fuel filter, honda civic si, flat pieces

One of the lines disconnects when you remove the bolt; the bolt for the other line is tapped through a secondary fitting and I am having difficulty removing it (it is not a bolt but a flat piece, with two flat sides and two rounded sides).  Any suggestions?

Not sure what you are refering too.  There should be two bolts about the same size that holds the two lines onto the filter.  One is tapped with a smaller bolt that is used for checking fuel pressure.  Don't remove the small bolt but the entire bolt that its threaded into. The flat pieces are part of the fuel filter if I am not mistaken.
