Honda Repair: removing the engine crank, main bearing, honda civic

Question
i have disconnected the connecting rods and everything else that is obvious in removing the crank but still no luck. the honda i am working on blew a main bearing and rod just want to replace it. so my question is how do i drop the crank out of the motor. it is a 97 honda civic

Answer
It the engine in or out of the car?  If its still in the car, you will have to remove the transmission.  If it were my car, I would be going to the junkyard and for $500 or less, get another engine.  It would be much easier to just replace the engine that try and repair the one you have.  Those engines are pretty strong so they don't fail often.
