Car Alarms: 2007 mazda3 remote starter not starting, mazda system, valet mode

Question
My wife has a 2007 Mazda3 we purchased new in Nov 2006. I purchased from the Mazda dealership a "Mazda Remote Start System with Vehicle Security specifically Engineered for mazda featuring PowerCode Technology" (so the owners manual proclaims). It doesn't work. Everything seems to be operating and behaving properly but it will not start the car. The "immobilizer indicator" light on the dash instrument cluster flashes every 3 seconds when the system is activated and never stops. I don't know if this was always happening or not. When I activate the remote starter the horn pips once lightly, then control panel lights and instrument cluster light up, headlights turn on, but no engine start, then the horn pips once lightly again and that's it...everything stays on but the car doesn't start.
any direction will certainly help. I bought this system from a Mazda dealership. They sent me to a car electronics installer who installed it. It worked fine for awhile then started doing this same thing. i took it back to them and they begrudgingly worked on it for a long time and got it working again. they said they didn't like the system and told me I should have came to them and bought their system instead too late now for me)The mazda system was warrantied for the length of the car warranty which ended at 80000km (now at 96000km) If I have too do it I ll take it back to them, but they will cetrtainly charge me this time. All the repair tech told me was that I was to pay attention to the mode I was in. He said that the starter was in valet mode. (but it took hime over an hour to fix it?) I've tried working through the in and out of valet mode but can't get it to work.
Any advice?
