Honda Repair: 92 honda civic si not running, spark tester, honda civic si

Question
I have a 92 civic si that is not running. I parked it in nov of 02. when I did it was running very good. in mar of this year I tried to get it running again to no avail. I have tried to test for spark and fuel and it seems to not get either. I dont know where to begin. the spark plugs are new. The tank is full of 93. where can I start? I really need this car to get going! I really appreciate your help in this matter.

Answer
Wade, you have to make 100% sure in what you're missing(fuel/spark)I'm assuming the engine turns over good with ample compression? I've seen it where it could take a long time cranking in order to build up compression enough to star the car when a vehicle has been parked for that amount of time. Try putting some oil in the cylinders to seal the rings. Do you smell fuel? Pull the spark plugs and have a look if they're wet. When you checked for spark did you use a spark tester or a spark plug. If you use a spark plug you have to ground it. Have a look inside the dist. cap and make sure the rotor and points on the cap aren't corroded. Make sure they are NGK plugs. Did you check the air cleaner to make sure nothing is restricting air flow. I have seen creatures make nests in air cleaner boxes. Check this stuff first and let me know what you get. RICK
