Honda Repair: 5 spd Hondas stall easy pulling away, computor, hondas

Question
First of all the 88 Accord backfire question from April 10th, try changing rotor button with a Honda rotor button.
Q: Now why do EFI Hondas want to stall or stumble if RPM's get a little low a when pulling away? You have to slip clutch a little more than normal which makes creaping in traffic annoying and it wears clutches prematurely. It doesn't happen with carbed Hondas or any other EFI Toyotas, Mazdas, Nissans etc. What tells the computor that RPM's are low, Map, O2, crank position sensor? and can this be modified so it doesn't happen? Thanks

Answer
Mike, no there's nothing that can really be done. In a case where you're stalling an engine taking off is due to the fact that you're not giving it enough gas or there's something wrong with the clutch. Nothing tells it to stall, there's just too much load on the engine(trying to move vehicle)at a low rpm to keep it running. Is the clutch new(needs to break in), grabbing too fast(oil soaked)? These are things you should look into. This holds true for any manual, whether it be a HONDA, TOYOTA etc. Hope this helps, RICK
