Honda Repair: tools to do the job, manual haynes, clutch kit

Question
Thank you!! 1987 honda accord lxi 3 door. I tightened the clutch cable and took to a mechanic and was told it should help for a few days. Need to put in a clutch kit. Doing the job this week cuz they wanted 650.00 to do it.
Never have done a clutch can you tell me what tools I should have? Any tips appreciated! How long does the job take - if all goes well? Best place to get good price on a oem clutch kit?

Ryan:
The job is time consuming, and it can be difficult depending on some of the condition of the bolts. You will be taking off the transmission also as it is attached. You need a good set of wrenches, 1/2, 3/8 inch ratchet wrenches. It would be a good idea and time saver if you have an air compressor and air ratchet. Other miscellanies tools like screwdrivers etc. You should purchase a repair manual, Haynes or Chilton’s, from an auto parts store for about $15-$20. The manual gives a good step-by-step procedure. I got a clutch kit from Auto Zone for about $100. You may end up breaking some parts in the process but overall you won't spend $650. or even half.
Hope this helps.
Good luck.
