Honda Repair: Engine cuts out whilst driving, intermittent problems, honda accord

Question
The engine cuts out occasionally whilst driving my x reg honda accord, the car just seems to shut down and lose power however when  restart the engine it is fine, this has only happened a handful of times over the last 5/6 weeks.  My wife mainly drives the car so the details are quite vague as this has never happened to me, it has just happened again today and she reported that this time the SRS light came on & the steering locked on her aswell? there are no problems starting the car at all and as I said it has never happened to me, so kinda confused at the moment and any advice would be welcomed.

thanks

Chris:
Intermittent problems are the most difficult and most annoying as you never know when a complete failure is going to happen. My guess on this would be to check the ignition switch may be going out or possibly the fuel pump. If the car is older (15+) I would lean toward the ignition switch. Both parts are expensive, so I would not replace them without knowing it was the problem. You pretty much have to check the problem when it happens or wait till it fails completely.
Good luck.
