Honda Repair: No Heat - 86 Civic - Blowing only at Feet, vacuum leak, heater core

I just bought an 86 Civic.  When I put it on to defrost the windshield it still stays blowing at the feet.  It won't heat up as well.  I was thinking it might be something to do with the controls.  What do you think?

You may have a problem with the thermostat or water pump or both. It sounds like the coolant is not circulating through the heater core. I would go ahead and replace the thermostat since it is inexpensive and fairly easy. The blower is controlled by vacuum, you will need to check to make sure you do not have a vacuum leak, also you would want to check the control cable to make sure it is connected.
