Honda Repair: honda, vacuum line, high pitch


Question
i have a 1990 honda accord dx 184,000 miles
front wheel drive for door

sometimes as i shift in to park it makes a   grinding sound


high pitch whisteling noise when i depress gas peddle,(while driving)

also as i accellerate up to hwy speeds gear seems not be engaging/shifting properly, its delayed

do i need to use a certain kind of atf?

My guess would be that your transmission is on its way out. You can change the transmission fluid with a high quality Dextron III fluid, Honda recommends using their brand only but that is not necessary in my opinion. The high pitch whistling may be a leak or unattached in a vacuum line.
