Honda Repair: Radiator in 94 Honda Civic, radiator cap, mild winters

Question
How often should I change the radiator water/fluid in my radiator? I live in a climate that has mild winters and hot summers. Thanks for your help.

I would say that as long as you use a well known brand (like Prestone) use distilled water at a 50/50 mix; I would not worry about changing. I use the extended life and only change when working on cooling system (water pump, thermostat) and change it then. The extended lift stuff is supposed to last 5 years and I usually have a failure from the water pump, thermostat or radiator cap. Now with that said I regularly check to make sure I'm not loosing coolant and that the engine does not over heat.
