Honda Repair: RPMs & Flashing oil light, honda accord ex, oil light

Question
The last week of June, I had my timing belt replaced.  As a result, my RPM's were running really high & it was jerking as i would accelerate.  Once I'd get to 55 mph for a good 5-7 minutes, the rpm's would run at 2 1/2 smooth, but any faster or slower & they jump to 3-3 1/2 & it makes a loud deep humming noise.  I thought maybe my car was adjusting to the new timing belt or something, b/c it's not so bad anymore.  Or maybe I adjusted to it.  When at a red light or stop sign with my foot on the brake, it was as if I were literally holding my car back. Then when I release the brake my car would take off without me even hitting the gas. This was how it was acting the last week of June.  More recently, last week, the oil lamp began flashing on one of our flood days here in Houston.  It's been raining everyday for like 2 weeks; slight exaggeration.  Yesterday, and this morning, the oil lamp is flashing again. I think it may be the ignition coil.  Can you confirm or deny this?  1992 Honda Accord EX 148,692 miles

Sorry not to get back to you sooner. Are you sure the oil pump is working correctly as the oil lamp would tell you that there is not enough oil pressure. If your oil level is okay, check the oil filter to see if there is oil in it, if not your oil pump needs to be replaced. As for the high RPM's, you need to make sure the timing belt was installed correctly, if the cam moved during installation your timing could be off.
Good luck.
