Honda Repair: 88 Accord Clutch Cable, clutch cable, suspiscion

Question
Bill,

I am planning on buying my freinds 88 Accord LX-i and there is only one problem the clutch will not engage. All gears work fine but the clutch will not engage. The car can be started and stay running without the clutch engaged. Our suspiscion was that the clutch cable was broken/disconnected. We've tried to locate the cable to see if it was broken but we could not find it. I would like to know first if you think our suspiscion was correct and if so where the cable is. Thank You

Ryan

Answer
Ryan:
You will find the clutch cable coming out of the transmission case. There will be a cable connected to a lever on the transmission. If the cable is broken or disconnected there would be no resistance at the pedal, otherwise I would suspect the clutch is bad.
Good luck.
