Honda Repair: HURRICANE RESISTOR FOR 89 HONDA, flat torque curve, spiral max

Question
Hi Bill,

I have a 1989 Honda 4 cyl fuel injected, 148,000 miles.  I added a K-N filter and Spiral Max units.  The car runs strong, but I want increased hp.  In your opinion is the Hurricane Performance Resistor a good investment, is it safe and will it even work on my 89's ECU?  Their site says for cars 90 or newer or fuel injection.  Thanks.  Bobbi

Answer
Bobbi:
This may be a little out of my area, but I have done some checking. You may want to consider building your motor for a flat torque curve, maximize toque, not HP. What about your exhaust, are you going to make modifications there too? Any time you add something (resistor) to your electrical system, you always run a risk, no matter how safe the manufacturer says it is.
Good luck
Bill
