Car Stereos: car speakers, audi a6 quattro, alpine usa

Hi,

I have a 2000 audi a6 quattro with a standard (non bose) factory installed speaker, but one of the speakers blew. Here is what my car manual says about the max power output

4x20 Watt + 60 Watt subwoofer* (the radio has 4 line outputs with 2 speakers (front) and 2 active speakers (rear))
*active speaker

would these speakers work well with my car as a replacement:

Hi Peter,

Those speakers should fit in your car, but be warned: you're looking at some work to get them in.  The factory speakers are not quite the right size, and you'll have to do some drilling & fabricating to make them fit.

That said, these are the issues you're looking at regardless of what speaker you put in there unless you go factory (which I wouldn't).

With a little effort and patience, you should be able to make these fit -- and they'll sound infinitely better than the factories.
