Honda Repair: part name and transmission, 1986 honda prelude, honda prelude

i got a 1986 honda prelude 1.8 liter engine dual carborator were the thermostat is housed there is a sensor of some sort there what is the name of that part two vacum hoses go to it ........ and on other hand i got a manual tranny and evrey gear works besides 5th gear why is this  ? any help would work and to fix fith gear would i have to take out the tranny ?

I think the part you are referring to is the vacuum advance unit. As for the problem with fifth gear, I would suspect you have worn or damaged synchronizers or constant mesh gears. You will need to rebuild the transmission.
