Honda Repair: Timing Belt Whine?, timing belts, honda accord

Question
'97 Honda Accord SE with 87,500 miles. I just had timing belts and water pump replaced. Now I hear an annoying whine that changes pitch with changes of the RPM. The car runs and shifts smoothly. What could be causing this whine?

Answer
Jim:
It could be the belt tensioner is seizing or it could be a faulty water pump, the bearing may be faulty. I'd try and isolate where the noise is coming from by removing accessory belts to see if it goes away so you can identify exactly where it is coming from.
Good luck.
