Honda Repair: 97 Honda Civic, valve adjustments, valve adjustment

Question
My 97 Civic engine knocks during acceleration for the first 5 minutes of driving each day. I'm convinced its an ignition timing issue - I've made it better by adjusting the position of the distributor. I need to adjust the timing, but can't figure out where to adjust the engine idle. I have a do-it-yourself book, but no photo to help me locate it (I know its on the throttle body and has a cover that must be removed). Can you help?

Answer
YOU HAVE IT RIGHT IT IS ON THE THROTTLE BODY AND IT IS COVERS WITH A GREY COVER WHICH YOU HAVE TO SCRAPE OFF IT SHOULD BE ON THE LEFT OF THE AIR FILTER TUBE THAT IS CONNECTED TO THE THROTTLE. YOU MIGHT NEED A VALVE ADJUSTMENT FOR THE KNOCKING NOISE IF ITS A LOUD KNOCKING NOISE THEN IT CAN BE A ROD KNOCK AND THATS BAD AND YOU WILL HAVE TO REPLACE A MOTOR SOON IF THAT IS IT.  BUT IT SOUNDS LIKE YOU NEED VALVE ADJUSTMENTS.
