Honda Repair: ABS repair, fuse panel, professional mechanic

Question
Recently had a Honda dealer look at my ABS system. According to them I am looking at $1500 worth of work. i have a 1994 honda accord ex, with over 180,000mls. i plan to keep "her" as long as possible. could their be any other reason for my ABS light to keep coming on. Maybe a relay switch or something. i have very little knowledge of cars and looking for alternatives to this monsterous expense. i've had the calibers, break shoes and rotors replaced.
would appreciate any advice you can give.

Answer
Tracey NEVER goto the dealer..everything with them is $1500.00 haha...i reccommend having one of your local mechanics look at it.  ABS is not something an inexperianced person is able to diagnois.

Then again due to the brakes being changed and the calipers compressed for the new pads this could have set off a trouble code to the ECU.  It might just need to be cleared.  You can do this by removing the ECU fuse and the Hazard fuse from the fuse panel for 10 minutes and then putting them back in if that doesnt work then you might need professional mechanic help.

Good luck and let me know your outcome
