Honda Repair: 86 honda accord, engine cranks, jump time

Question
hi,
i have an 86 honda accord and the other day it started missing...then the next day it died. We were able to pop the clutch but it would only go at high rpms and ran like shit during that.I replaced the cap, rotor, plugs, wires, fuel filters, and coil and still nuthing. After all this i found out i wasnt getting spark. The engine cranks and cranks like it wants to start though. Honda told me to change the ignitor but if it was running like crap when we popped the clutch, wouldnt it be something different or would that be from the lack of spark?
Thanx for any help you can give me. I appreciate it.

Answer
Well we need to back up. You said that you pop the cluth and ran at high rpm's. If you are not geting spark you have a bad ignitor or a bad distrubutor. But we need to make sure with the parts that you replace you are not masking the problem. The ignitor is the heart of the igntion system and cause the coil not to fire right. Hold on did you check the timing belt to see if it might have jump time. It can cause the same problem being out of time. You might need a shop to check it for you or a good book with the timing marks . try that first before the ignitor. Good Luck
