Honda Repair: AC COMPLETE REPAIR 99 CIVIC, dealer markup, ac system

Question
I was told that the clutch broke from the ac system and that the entire system was destroyed because of the metal parts shooting around in there. So the compressor hoses and everything is gone. They gave me a replacement cost of $1800.00 dollars. Is that typical or this a severe dealer markup? This is at a Honda dealer in San Antonio, Texas

OUCH!!  go rip all this stuff outta a junk yard and put it in yourself...all the power wires and everything is there so you just need to bolt everything in

1800.00 is alot for this but again you said dealerr so the dealer is always a rip off...try your local AC shop!!!
