Honda Repair: What tools are required for CV joint repair?, rusted bolts, honda accord

Question
Hi Ryan,

I am going to attempt my first CV joint repair.  I have an 89 Honda Accord and will replace the entire half-axle.  What tools will I need to do this repair?

Thank you!
Mary

Answer
OHHH this is so easy...your going to need to take the tire off, then take the axel nut off (you can get a socket form your local auto shop) (22mm or 24mm i think??) Check your repair book for procedures for taking the axel off...from then your just going to need to follow the half shaft back and use a flat pry bar to POP the axel from the tranny.  Then just put the new one in...make sure it pops all the way in and the bearing sit correctly...i did this MANY MANY times it takes about 20 minutes, max an hour if you have trouble with rusted bolts...GOOD luck let me know your outcome!!!
