Honda Repair: brake lights failure, honda accord lx, 92 honda accord lx

Question
Ryan,I'm sorry if I confused you. What I mean by harness is the disconnect wire harness that holds both the brake/parking back up bulbs. I removed the one on the passenger side and connected it to the driver side to eliminate the possibility that the bulb harness was defective. when I attached them to the driver side the bulbs functioned properly so then I knew that both the bulbs and the wire harness where the bulbs go in are not defective. You mentiond the fuse/relay are they located in the engine compartment or under the dash on the driverside if in the engine could you tell me where? Thanks, Raymond--------------------

Ryan, I have a 92' Honda Accord lx 4dr. I blew a brake light bulb on the driver side. Easy fix so I changed it! Then my passenger side also went out so I changed them but they never worked. I switched the harness with the left and the bulbs worked!! The bulbs do work when I turn my headlights on but not for braking on the passenger side. Also my third brake light also is not working bought new bulbs and still nothing. Ryan, please advise before I go nuts I've never had any machanical or electrical problems with this car.

Thanks,
Raymond

Hrmmmm...You might wanna check your blinker relays/fuses, please give me sme more information on what you mean by "switching the harness".  Im going to need a little more info so i can give you a better answer

Answer
I belive that the relay is under the drivers dash somewhere...check your repair book for the exact location.  You MIGHT have a sliced wire somewhere in the car thats grounding out and causing it to not work.  Get a multimeter and check if theres and power even making it to the bulbs on that side.
