Honda Repair: 98 Accord grinding noise, wheel bearing, cv joint

Question
I have a 1998 Honda Accord with 120k. I recently noticed a grinding noise when I turn the steering wheel left.  I initially thought there was a tire rubbing, but after inspecting both fronts, I found no evidence of wear.  Could this be a wheel bearing going bad?

Answer
Dwight,
The noise you hear is probally not a wheel bearing. Since I can't hear the noise, I can only guess what it may be. Sounds like it may be a bad CV joint. Also possibly a heat shield that is rubbing the rotor also. Have someone stand outside the car and make the noise. That should help you diagnose the noise.
Good luck
