Honda Repair: power steering fluid, high pressure hose, exhuast manifold

Question
Dear Gene.

I own a 1988 Honda Accord and this is my first trouble since I had the car in two years. I keep all the car's important necessities maintained regularly. But before I take my car to the garage I want to make sure my money well worth spent.
OK, here's the trouble:
The car's power steering fluid keeps draining since this last couple days, but I could'nt find the leakage anywhere. I wonder if it has something to do with the engine or brake/suspension. I filled the fluid full before I went to work this morning, but now it's only half a tank. Could it be leaking only when the car is on the road? Your answer and suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thank you for your time and look forward to hear from you.

Sincerely,
Zar

Answer
Zar,
Sounds like you are loosing a lot of fluid. Hard to beleive that you do not see it leaking anywhere. Here are the common places for your car to leak P/S fluid. Check the high pressure hose under the hood. It is the hose that comes off the pump and crosses over the exhuast manifold. They tend to leak there. It can also be a dangerous situation if it is leaking there. I have seen cars catch fire in those cases.
Another spot to look is your P/S rack. Look under the car at the rack. See if there is any fluid leaking out either end.

thanks for the question and good luck.
