Honda Repair: Blown Head Gasket, blown head gasket, honda civic lx

Question
Gene,
The car is 1994 Honda Civic LX D15B7. Had engine overheating and coolant been pushed out of expansion reservuar by exuast gasses(?), only when engine heats up. Replaced Thermostat, fan switch, radiator. Didn't have any effect. Suspect blown head gasket, worped head or crack in cylinder wall.
Did I cover all the options, or is there something else? Is there a way to diagnose which in particular problem exist: like if I have crak in cylinder wall?
Thanks in advance,
Mark

Answer
Mark,
Thanks for your question.
Sounds like you covered all the basics. You are probally right. (did you check to see if the fan is working?)
To check for a blown head gasket you will need a leakdown tester. That pumps air into the cylinder. (you do one cylinder at a time.) Remove the radiator cap and check to see if you have any bubbles coming to the top of the radiator. If you do, you have either a blown gasket or cracked head, or a warped head. (not cracked cylinder wall. That never happens)
I have replaced quite a few of those gaskets on your car for the same problem. That is most likley your problem.
Good luck,
Gene
