Question
Please help. My 2002 Hunday Accent passenger doors will not open.  Tried from
inside and out.  Checked the manual... no help.

Answer
Hi, Caterina.  You should plan on needing to replace your door latches, so you may wish to purchase the parts in advance.  If you shut the doors again after you get them open, you won't be able to easily open them again.

To attempt to open the doors, roll the window down on each of the doors in question.  Then, shine a penlight down inside the door at the latch, and with a long, narrow screwdriver, attempt to reach down to the latch and trigger the unlatching with the screwdriver.  You may need to push/prod on several areas of the latch to accomplish this.

If you're having trouble getting the screwdriver through the window opening or positioning the flashlight to see inside, you can try to pry the rear corner of the inside door panel up off the door at the rear edge.  This has the disadvantage that you're likely to inflict some minor damage to the door trim panel, but if you're careful, it may be limited to some minor bending of the weatherstrip which can be corrected once you get the door open enabling you to remove the trim panel to gain access to the latch.
