Hyundai Repair: 2007 Hyundai Sonata Alarm, 2007 hyundai sonata, hyundai sonata

Question
I currently own a 2007 Hyundai Sonata.  The problem that I am having is that the alarm seems to set off randomly for no aparent reason.  Any suggestions is highly appreciated.

Answer
There is a technical service bulletin (TSB # 09-BE-026) on this issue.  It indicates that the factory-installed hood switch pad-- a small rubber bumper attached to the hood which depresses the plunger in the hood switch-- may be too short, causing intermittent contact with the hood switch, in turn making the alarm sound when it believes the hood to have been opened.  Presuming there are no issues with your hood alignment and your door switches all operate normally, you likely need to replace the hood switch pad with part number 92736-3A000.

If this is indeed your issue and your vehicle has less than 60,000 miles, this repair should be covered under your factory warranty.
