Hyundai Repair: Stereo removal, hyundai avante, control cables

I have a hyundai avante 1996 model. i want to change the stereo but i dont know how to remove it. pls teach me

Hi, Regy.

First, you'll need to remove the center panel from the dash.  

Snap the gearshift trim loose and remove it.  Remove the screw at the bottom of the center panel and the one from behind the dimmer knob.  

As the heater control is attached to the center panel, you'll also need to disconnect the control cables from the heater box.  You'll be able to access them from under the dash.  Press the tabs on the levers to slide the cables off, and snap the cables out of their retaining clips.

Now, the center panel will be able to be unsnapped from the dash.  As you remove it, disconnect the electrical connectors so you can place it to the side.

Now, the radio mountings are exposed, and you can remove the four screws holding the radio in place, pull the radio out and unplug it.
