Hyundai Repair: transmission solenoid cable, torque converter clutch, torque converter clutch solenoid

Question
hi, i have a 1995 sonata GLS, korean made'special edition', 2l dohc 16v efi (sirius), the transmission solenoid connector end  got dammaged leaving pins intact, can you give any information including pin colours, for both sides, on how to connect pins to veichle main harness. also can you supply information for the location on the main harness of the kickdown servo single pin connector, much thanks in advance.

Answer
Hi, Disraeli.  I can maybe help you halfway.  The schematic lists the wire colors for the harness, but not for the wires inside the transmission.

In the wire harness, you have the following wire colors:
Terminal 1 -- torque converter clutch solenoid -- blue
Terminal 2 -- fluid pressure control solenoid -- yellow
Terminal 3 -- shift control solenoid B -- red
Terminal 4 -- shift control solenoid A -- blue/black.

It'll be important for the transmission side of the connector to be intact, as this connector seals water and dirt from entering the transmission through the hole in the case.  If the transmission side of the connector is damaged, then you should replace the solenoids, which will come with the transmission end of the wiring and a new connector for the transmission case.  If the harness end of the connector is missing, I'd recommend cutting a connector off a junk vehicle and then splicing the wires into your harness.

The connector for the kickdown servo switch is typically located on or near the transmission mount.
