Hyundai Repair: wont go in gear, clutch fluid, clutch pedal

Question
'01 Hyundai accent wont shift gear(standard 5 speed#. I checked my fluids the clutch reservoir was empty (the car was able to be driven then). I filled the reservoir, a few days later the car would not shift into gears. Did my clutch go out or does a line need to be bled? ~In need of mechanical knowledge~

Answer
Your clutch fluid should never get low; if it does, there's a leak somewhere in the clutch hydraulic system.  Usually, this leak will be at the master cylinder (typically leaks inside the car behind the dash) or at the release cylinder (typically leaks into rubber boot on cylinder).

If your fluid isn't low, you probably just need to bleed the system; if the fluid was so low that the clutch wouldn't disengage, you've already got air in the system.  But since it was okay for a few days, it's more likely that it's low again.

I'm presuming that your symptoms are consistent with a hydraulic system issue:
-- Clutch pedal pushes down easily
-- Cannot shift with engine running, but can shift with engine not running
-- If started with gearshift in gear, the vehicle moves even with the clutch pedal depressed
-- Engine lugs or shuts off at stops if transmission is in gear and even if clutch pedal depressed
