Hyundai Repair: Transmission Filter, isuzu bighorn, rectangular pan

Question
Hi there, I know you are not a isuzu expert but with my 1994 V6 automatic isuzu bighorn I need to remove the filter for the transmission and I was just wondering how to do that, do I have to drain the oil? What is the name of the pan I have to unscrew. Could you please provide as much detail as possible Thanks.

Answer
Hi, Harley.  The transmission filter is inside the transmission pan-- this is the large rectangular pan on the bottom of the transmission.  As I'm not intimately familiar with Isuzu, I'm not sure if there is a drain plug or if you'll need to let the fluid drain out as you loosen the screws (and then dump the pan when you get it down.  Once you have removed the transmission pan, you should directly see the transmission fluid filter on the bottom of the transmission.
