Suzuki: Running sluggish., gas filter, vehicle speed

Hi David,
    I have a 1995 Suzuki sikekick, that I have had since it was 4 yrs old. Just lately it has been running bad. If I drive it to town and bad it will only going up the hill at 15 miles per hour, some people say it's the clutch, others say it could be the gas filter. Please help! I don't have a lot of money to put into it. However it has only given me trouble 2 times. Once when the back ream came OFF and the wheel went down the street without me and when I ran out of gas in it for the first time EVER.

This should be easy to differentiate.  If it's the clutch, the engine will race and rev up without any increase in vehicle speed.  Usually a fuel pump or fuel filter problem will show up as loss of power on heavy acceleration.  As I remember, the pump is in the tank, requiring partial removal of the tank to access the pump, so don't fill the tank before trying to drop the tank, or taking it to the shop for repairs.
