Hyundai Repair: 2003 Hyundai Tiburon A/C, hyundai tiburon, 2003 hyundai tiburon

Question
Hello,

I have a problem with my 2003 Hyundai Tiburon's Air Conditioning. The Fan seems to be not working because unless I drive fast enough for the air to travel through the vents I don't get any air whatsoever.

When I go about 65 mp/h, which is fast enough for a decent air flow and I turn the switch to heat, hot air comes out of the vents but when I turn it to cold the air that comes out of the vents is outside temperature.

My two main questions are:

1. What could be the problem why the a/c doesn't blow air?
2. Why does it only blow hot air but not cold air?

Thank You

Answer
I'd recommend checking the blower switch first.  The blower switch provides ground to both the blower fan and the a/c controls.  If the switch fails, the fan won't run and the a/c won't turn on.  The latter will be evidenced by the fact that the indicator on the a/c switch also does not illuminate.
