Hyundai Repair: Sounds like a front axle bearing, brake caliper, zirk

Question
Hello - We have a 2005 Accent, manual trans., and have noticed a squeak coming from the front drivers side wheel area. Not so long ago I would have thought that the bearing needed repacking or replacing but when I looked around behind the tire, things look a little different! I saw a single Zirk fitting on what looked like a brake caliper and that was all the lube fittings I could find. I found nothing in the owners manual to help. Any recommendations?

Answer
The front hub bearings (and other suspension components) on your Accent are sealed and cannot be lubricated.  Normally, they make a humming noise when worn.  If you are indeed hearing a squeaking noise, I might suspect worn brake pads causing the wear indicator to rub.
