Hyundai Repair: Does my 2000 Hyundai Sonata has ABS?, wheel disc brakes, hyundai sonata

My brakes lock-up and skid on wet pavement on a panic stop.  How can I tell if I have ABS that isn't working or if my car is not equipped with ABS?  My VIN is KMHWF35V1YA261699, Engine 2.5L V6, 4 wheel disc brakes,  I don't see a dash light for ABS or TC.  Thank you. Shady Catie, New Jersey, USA

The options list for your vehicle accessed through the parts catalog does not list ABS for your vehicle.  In the 2000 model year, few Sonatas were equipped with ABS.

To verify your car does not have ABS, look under the hood for the ABS module.  It would be located on the passenger side rear of the engine compartment just above the alternator.
