Hyundai Repair: 2000 hyundai elantra, hyundai elantra, throwout bearing

Question
im trying to take the transmission out and it want pull out what could it be thats stoping it from coming out.

Answer
Hi, Daniel.  Presuming you have a manual transmission, the clutch release fork hooks into the throwout bearing, which is in turn snapped into the pressure plate.  The shift fork lever on top of the transmission rests against a detent which will prevent it from turning the fork out of the bearing.  Simply remove the lever from the top of the transmission, and this should allow the transmission to be pulled away from the engine.

If you have an automatic transmission, I'll need more information regarding what you've already removed to allow for transmission removal.
