Hyundai Repair: 2000 tiburon locking issue, hyundai tiburon, fuse box

Question
hi i've had my 2000 hyundai tiburon for 3 years. now i'm having a lil problem with her doors locks. both doorlocks are just fine (unable to open door when locked), it's just both doors wont lock together when i flip the driver's lock like it used to. in the past i've told my passengers NOT to touch the lock so i can lock it together. couple years ago, i bought Venom remote starter and security from best buy, and clicking the lock button on remote, it locks both doors. unfortunately, last year, a passenger flipped the lock on passenger door, and now the door dont work with the driver's lock anymore, not even the remote locks the passenger door, i need to flip it by hand :( how do i fix this?

Answer
Hi, Amanda.  Before we can decide what's necessary to fix your Tiburon, we'll need to figure out the exact problem that caused the issue.

The security system could be a help or a hindrance in diagnosing this issue.  We know that neither door locks electrically, but we don't know what was modified in the locking circuit to install the system.

Additionally, operating the passenger lock by hand should not affect the operation of the automatic locks, so I'm a little surprised about all the attention to telling someone to not do this.  Is it known that doing this creates a problem?  If so, what problem was it known to create and how did you find out about this problem?

As far as finding the issue, I'd recommend first checking the power lock fuse.  It should be the 15A fuse second from the top in the left column of fuses in the interior fuse box.  If it's blown, replace it and recheck door lock operation.
