Mower will only start when spray with ether, it will run until ether is gone then stop. Carb. problem. how do I fix
Answer In general, the carb is likely clogged up with old fuel/dirt/water etc...
If you have a metal bowl type carb, the thing that you spray
the ether in, you can remove the nut on the bottom of it and see
if any fuel/junk dribbles out. Look at the nut, and if it has any
holes made into the top and sides of it, clean them out and
reinstall, and put some fresh fuel in and try to start again, with
the aid if the spray if needed. If it does not get going, please give me the model numbers off of the engine itself, and I can go into greater detail.
