Hyundai Repair: tourque converter, torque converter clutch, crank sensor

Question
QUESTION: I saw your answer to my question but it did not give me a chance to respond.  The code that is coming up is P0740

ANSWER: P0740 indicates an issue with the torque converter clutch performance, not any sort of electrical issue with the solenoid.

Also check the diagnostic trouble codes stored in the engine control module (ECM).  If you also have diagnostic trouble code (DTC) P0335 or P1372 there (or P0725 in the transmission control module (TCM)), replace the crank sensor.  The TCM uses the data from the crank sensor to determine whether the torque converter clutch is working properly.  If the crank sensor isn't working properly, it can cause code P0740 to set erroneously.

Otherwise, you'll need to overhaul (with new torque converter) or replace the transmission.

QUESTION: the stored codes on the ecm would be found by just plugging the obd II up under the steering column correct, or is there another port to plug into to get to the ecm.

Answer
Yes, you would obtain these codes via the OBDII plug.  You may have already checked for this at the time you originally checked, depending on the scan tool/code reader you used.  I just want to make sure I don't erroneously tell you that you'll need to replace your transmission.
