Hyundai Repair: error codes, coolant temperature sensor, valve cover gasket

Question
Greetings
as a follow up replacing the motor mounts was a breeze, great idea taking off the crossmember, it took me no time at all, it was much quicker than replacing the valve cover gasket
I am getting 4 error codes
P0310
P1700
P0710
P1B00
I found somewhere on the net, another person had same errors, they replaced the water temp sensor, I replaced it and tried to reset the codes, my reader tells me there was an errror resetting the codes
I just want to confirm the above codes mean that the water temp sensor( the sensor with only 1 lead coming off of it) there is the other sensor with 2 leads(which is behind this one)
did I replace the right sensor?
do the above codes mean that this sensor is at fault, I also thought maybe there is a problem with the harness wire which connects to the temp sensor
any ideas

Answer
I think there's a communication problem with your code reader/scanner.

P0310 indicates a misfire on cylinder #10.  Obviously this cannot occur on the vehicle since it has a four cylinder engine.

P0710 indicates a problem with the transmission fluid temperature sensor readings.  On this vehicle, the most frequent issue is a broken wire at the two-pin connector at the left front corner of the transmission.

P1700 is a manufacturer-defined transmission code that appears to not be used for this vehicle.

P1B00 is a manufacurer-defined code that isn't used for this vehicle.

The one-wire coolant temperature sensor is for the temperature gauge.  The two-wire sensor behind it reports to the ECM and is capable of causing a diagnostic trouble code to set when it malfunctions.  None of the trouble codes you reported indicate any sort of problem with the coolant temperature sensor.  In fact, the only one that applies to the vehicle indicates a problem with the transmission fluid temperature sensor.
