Hyundai Repair: 2001 hyundai santa fe, hyundai santa fe, transmission control module tcm

Question
QUESTION: My car just posted the following codes and wanted more information to try and fix the problems. The codes are p1529 and p0715.  Thanks for any help

ANSWER: P0715 indicates that the transmission control module (TCM) has seen a problem with the signal from the input speed sensor.  P1529 simply indicates that the TCM has requested the engine control module (ECM) to turn on the check engine lamp.

Only once have I seen P0715 caused by anything other than the input speed sensor itself, and in that case, it was readily apparent and caused by the wiring at the connector for the sensor being eaten through by a rodent.

QUESTION: Should I replace input speed sensor and where would that be located. Thanks

Answer
The speed sensor is located on top of the transmission, immediately under the bracket holding the shift cable to the transmission.  Have a look at the wiring coming out of the sensor.  If you see no issues, replace the sensor; there's a near 100% chance it'll resolve your issue.
