Hyundai Repair: 05 Kia Alternator, kia spectra 5, 2005 kia spectra

2005 Kia Spectra 5 Sport
Tried to jump start the car in the dark and inadvertently had the polarity wrong.  Now there is no voltage off the positive post of the alternator.  Do I now need to change out the alternator/rectifier or is there an easier solution.  Any contributions would be appreciated.  Alex

Usually, this causes the main fuse to blow, perhaps along with some minor fuses.

Check the main fuse-- it'll be the one with the highest amperage rating and will be either in the main underhood fuse box or in a small box attached to the positive battery terminal.
