Hyundai Repair: lost brake pressure, accent 4, bleeder screw

Question
i have an 99 accent 4 cylinder, just did the brake pads yesterday and after doing them the pedal now drops close to the floor b4 stopping, the car does stop tho. it used to be touchy and now its loose like an 92 year old hooker, note: when doing the brakes (1st time) i accidently unscrewed the top screw that went to the brake fluid on passenger side (screwed it back all the way tight) some of the fluid came out, also the fluid level still looks good under the hood

Answer
Most likely, you introduced air into the brake system when the bleeder was removed or loosened.  Air is compressible, and thus results in the low brake pedal.  It's important to remove all the air from the system.  To do this, you'll need an assistant and some brake fluid.

Assuming this was after a front brake job, go to the brakes at each front wheel and do the following:
-- Have your assistant depress the brake pedal.
-- Open the bleeder screw, allowing fluid and air to come out.
-- Close the bleeder screw.
-- Have your assistant release the brake pedal.
-- Repeat until there is no more air coming out of the bleeder at each wheel.

Note that you may periodically need to top off the fluid in the master cylinder.  If you exhaust all the fluid in the reservoir, you'll be introducing more air into the system.
